ANNUALS

 

 

GERANIUMS – 4” Pot        $2.25 each

MOSES IN THE CRADLE - $1.75 each

 

â  Whorls of strap-like fleshy foliage.  Keep soil evenly moist.  Not bought for its flower.  Leaves green on top, purple on underside.  Take bright light (full sun).  Can be brought indoors in fall as a houseplant.

Joe Pie Weed - $5.50

Sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained fertile soil.  Late flowering plants for the perennial border.  Good cut flowers.  Dark bronze-purple lancolate foliage and creamy white flowers.  70” tall.  Blooms August – September.

 

Ligularia – The Rocket - $5.50

Full shade in moist, fertile soil.  Impressive plants for shady moist borders.  Very effective alongside water.  Tall

racemes of bright yellow wispy-petaled flowers.  72” tall.  Blooms July – August.

Yarrow Appleblossom - $5.50

Grows well in full sun, poor soil.  Prefers some moisture but has good drought tolerance.  Avoid soggy soils.  It is vigorous and tall with strong stems.  It features deeply cut, dark green foliage and peach to lilac pink flowers.  36” tall.  June to August blooming time.  Flowers good for cutting & dried arrangements.  Used as a border or wild garden.

 

Lucifer Crocosmia – $5.50

Hosta – Dressingham Blue - $5.50

Compact, heart shaped, blue-green leaves of heavy substance.  White flower.  One of Darwin’s top 10 Hosta’s.  Prefers partial shade and humus-rich fertile soil.  Good plants for the shade garden, the border, ground cover or edging.  20” tall, 24” spread.  Leaf size 6” x 4”.

 

 

Siberian Iris – $5.50

Medium to broad, pendent or semi-flaring falls and medium to long upright standards.  Have a useful flowering period between spring & summer flowering perennials.  Best in sun or light shade and moisture-retentive.  Slightly acid soil.

o   DANCE BALLERINA DANCE -  Ruffled, lilac-white standards and flowering lilac falls with honey markings in the signal area and white tinges to the edges.  24” tall.  Blooms May & June.

Best in full sun and ordinary well-drained soil.  Good border plant.  Drought tolerant, low growing and spreading variety has soft and fuzzy, oval, gray-white leaves.  Produces a nice contrast in color and texture to grasses or colorful plants.  12” – 18” tall.  Blooms June – August.
